INTRODUCTION OF DIPLOMA IN INTERNATIONAL PUBLIC SESCTOR ACCOUNTING STANDARDS FROM 1ST FEBRUARY 2016.

Introduction 
Due to growing demand in public sector entities to prepare and present high quality transparent financial statements, the National Board of Accountants and Auditors has introduced Diploma in International Public Sector Accounting Standards to be known as “Diploma in IPSAs” which will start on 1st of February, 2016

The introduction of Diploma in IPSAS is in accordance with the mandate granted to the Board under Section 4 of the Accountants and Auditors (Registration) Act [Cap. 286 Revised in 2002], where the Board has been mandated to conduct examinations and grant diplomas, certificates and other awards in accountancy, auditing and allied subjects.

Course Objective
The Course principal objective is to provide an in-depth understanding of the practical application of the International Public Sector Accounting Standards. At the end of the course, the Board shall award Diploma in IPSAS for those who will be successful.
Targeted learners
Diploma in IPSAS will benefit anyone who requires an understanding and application of international accounting standards in the public sector. In particular, it is suitable for: 

· Accountants and finance staff at all levels who are involved in the preparation of financial statements 
· Trainers wishing to acquire advanced knowledge of the standards 
· IPSAS’s implementation and sustainability teams 
· Both internal and external auditors and consultants dealing with financial reporting 
· Officers responsible for public sector financial reporting and auditing
Entry Qualifications: Holders of Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Certificate or its equivalent or Holders of Postgraduate Studies in Accounting, Finance, Tax or related subject.

Venue: will be at NBAA Campus

Training hours per week: The time for classes will be from 5.00 PM to 7.00 PM
Duration of the Course: Duration of the course will be six months and examinations will be held in two sessions in a year that is February and August. Two hour classes will be held for three days per week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. To begin with, classes and examinations centre will be in Dar Es Salaam only.

Fees and Registration: Application for admission in the February 2016 intake has commenced since 16th November, 2015 and deadline will be on 15th January, 2016.

Total cost for the programme is Tshs.1,500,000/- which includes registration, tuition and examination fees.
